La marque de chaussures Kamo Gutsu est imaginée et conçue en Belgique et fabriquée en Italie. Elle s’inspire des chaussures de sport des années 1920-1930. Le nom de la marque provient des chaussures japonaises utilisées pour jouer au kemari, la version nipponne ancestrale (VII ème siècle) du football d’aujourd’hui. Pour les membres de l’ancienne classe supérieure japonaise, le kemari était considéré comme un jeu raffiné de grâce et d’adresse. La chaussure d’origine ressemblait à un bec de canard, d’où le nom de la marque : kamo = canard et gutsu = chaussure. La tradition du Kemari se perpétue de nos jours grâce à l’Empereur du Japon et à la Kemari Preservation Society.
