Choosing the right size

To find shoes that fit well, you need to measure your feet correctly. There are several quick and easy ways to find your size. Here are 3 of them:

The professional pedimeter

This professional tool measures the length of a foot. Fun and perfectly suited to children’s feet as well as adults’, it is very quick and easy to use: ideal for measuring your own size or checking your children’s during the season.

This pedimeter is available on our website.

How does it work?

  1. Place the pedimeter on the floor.
  2. Standing up, put your right heel on the rounded mark and keep the rest of your foot flat (toes spread out). Stand up straight and look ahead.
  3. Slide the white tab to the tip of your foot, on the scale.
  4. Read your size. If the pedimeter shows 2 values, take the larger one. That’s it, you know your size!

The printable pedimeter

Click the button below to print our pedimeter on a standard sheet of paper (A4, actual size, 100% scale) and measure your foot on it:

  1. Print the pedimeter and place it on a flat surface on the floor.
  2. Stand up and put your foot flat (toes spread out) on the sheet, making sure your heel is right at the back of the space provided.
  3. Read your size on the scale.

As one foot can be larger than the other, measure both feet and go with the larger size. For example, if your foot is between a 38 and a 39, round up to the next size: your size is 39.

Measuring in cm

You can also use a blank sheet of paper to measure your foot.

How does it work?

  1. Put your foot flat on a blank sheet of paper and trace its outline with a pen.
  2. Repeat with the other foot.
  3. Measure the maximum length with a ruler or a tape measure.

To convert this measurement into a French (EU) size, we use the French system, or Paris point, in which the length in cm equals 2/3 of the size. For example, if your foot measures 25.9 cm, the formula is 26 cm / 0.666 = 39: your French size is 39.

For children’s feet, remember to leave a margin of about 1.2 cm at the front of the foot. This is the growth margin (a child’s foot grows by 3 mm every 30 days on average).

About the brand

Kids, what they love, what they do, at home, at school, on holiday…have always been the main inspiration and focus of Danilo and Fabrizio the two brothers, makers and current head of Lunella brand. 50 years of know-how and experience dedicated to the manufacture of shoes designed exclusively for children is quite a reassuring thought for parents. The secret of the well-being of Lunella shoes lies at first in their joyful, cheerful and colorful styles, with cute details that really appeal to children. Then comes the new generation of latex foam insoles, enriched with aloe vera extract. An anti-bacterial and oxygenating effect which grants freshness around the foot and provides the ultimate comfort experience. Last but not least, Lunella’s shoes are 100% produced in Italy, in the historic factory of Monte Urano (near the Adriatic Sea), from premium natural materials (no chemical treatments) of Italian origin (to lower CO2 emissions). And with this ecological approach in mind and because Lunella is seriously concerned with the future of the planet and children, the brand has installed on the roof of its factory, solar panels to take full advantage of the Italian’s sun to use clean energy. These soft, flexible and smart sandals, mary janes, ankle boots, velcro or laces shoes are just waiting to meet little feet. It’s no wonder that kids will want to stick to Lunella shoes… and they can keep doing it for a long time, because Lunella takes care of kids’ feet from their very first steps, up to size 40!
