Gran Sasso’s story begins in 1952 in Sant’Egidio alla Vibrata, a small town south of the border between the Marche and the Abruzzo regions. 4 brothers (Nello, Eraldo, Alceo and Francesco Di Stefano) with a passion for knitwear, decided to show the world their talents and the quality of their know-how. They chose the name Gran Sasso, as a nod to the highest mountain of their region. Magnifico Gran Sasso, as it is sometimes called, quickly rose and became THE fashion icon made in Italy. Knitwear, casual and formalwear from Gran Sasso now counts among key garments of any true gentleman. Each style is made by highly skilled craftsmen, every knitwear or wool pieces are carefully selected from the finest fabric, each label is sewn by hand. Today, the third generation of Di Stefano family manages the brand and continues to maintain this balanced mix of tradition and modernity, which grants Gran Sasso its international recognition.
