Choosing the right size

To find shoes that fit well, you need to measure your feet correctly. There are several quick and easy ways to find your size. Here are 3 of them:

The professional pedimeter

This professional tool measures the length of a foot. Fun and perfectly suited to children’s feet as well as adults’, it is very quick and easy to use: ideal for measuring your own size or checking your children’s during the season.

This pedimeter is available on our website.

How does it work?

  1. Place the pedimeter on the floor.
  2. Standing up, put your right heel on the rounded mark and keep the rest of your foot flat (toes spread out). Stand up straight and look ahead.
  3. Slide the white tab to the tip of your foot, on the scale.
  4. Read your size. If the pedimeter shows 2 values, take the larger one. That’s it, you know your size!

The printable pedimeter

Click the button below to print our pedimeter on a standard sheet of paper (A4, actual size, 100% scale) and measure your foot on it:

  1. Print the pedimeter and place it on a flat surface on the floor.
  2. Stand up and put your foot flat (toes spread out) on the sheet, making sure your heel is right at the back of the space provided.
  3. Read your size on the scale.

As one foot can be larger than the other, measure both feet and go with the larger size. For example, if your foot is between a 38 and a 39, round up to the next size: your size is 39.

Measuring in cm

You can also use a blank sheet of paper to measure your foot.

How does it work?

  1. Put your foot flat on a blank sheet of paper and trace its outline with a pen.
  2. Repeat with the other foot.
  3. Measure the maximum length with a ruler or a tape measure.

To convert this measurement into a French (EU) size, we use the French system, or Paris point, in which the length in cm equals 2/3 of the size. For example, if your foot measures 25.9 cm, the formula is 26 cm / 0.666 = 39: your French size is 39.

For children’s feet, remember to leave a margin of about 1.2 cm at the front of the foot. This is the growth margin (a child’s foot grows by 3 mm every 30 days on average).

About the brand

Everybody know Geox’ world-wide reputation. But do you know how “the shoes that breathe” were created? It all started on a hot Summer day, back in the 1990s. Mario Moretti Polegato, creator and founder of the Geox company (that he is still running today), was strolling under Nevada’s burning sun and had the brilliant idea to poke holes into his outsoles to ventilate his feet. The idea of a flexible, breathable outsole had just emerged. Back to Italy, that very idea is developped in a small local company belonging to the Moretti Polegato family, before being patented. Geox shoes are then manufactured with perforated outsoles, equipped with a special membrane that wicks sweat away and allows air to freely move inside the shoes. “The shoes that breathe” concept was born and a wonderful success story that would revolutionize the shoe making industry was about to begin. What about the name “Geox”? It actually comes from the greek word geo meaning “earth”. Combined with the letter X, the symbol of new technologies, Geox gained a reputation of innovative and modern company. Geox: new generations of exclusive technologies Every season, Geox creates and develops many technologies (Amphibiox, Aerantis™, Modual, Nebula, Nexside™) which allow people from all ages to find the perfect Geox style in terms of comfort, trendiness and stylishness.
