Laidback London shoes

If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.’ This African proverb pretty much gives you the idea of how Laidback London works.

As fast fashion was booming, Mohamed Daya, the young Kenyan creator of the brand, saw the value in offering products made using traditional craftsmanship: shoes with something to tell and to give back, to make a difference and improve the lives of the local communities that would make them.

This is how Laidback London started in the early 2000s, with leather sandals handmade in Africa, using traditional techniques passed down through generations. Each pair is made by many hands, through safe and sustainable employment, training and education.

In 2014 the brand launched its first Winter collection with the same ethos of working with local artisans, preserving traditional craftsmanship and giving back to the local community. These furred boots are authentic, and may be raw in their make up, but what they lack in perfection, they make up for in charm and character.
